Application Instructions
Our ready to apply vinyl graphics are easy to apply yourself although it is helpful to have 2 people.
You will need: -- the ready to apply graphic -- alcohol and paper towels -- tape measure or ruler -- spray bottle or sponge with soapy water -- squeegee or other straight edge -- tape, preferably masking tape -- scissors -- pin or needle
Step 1. Prepare the area where you want to apply the graphic. Thoroughly clean the area, using alcohol and paper towels.
Step 2. Carefully place the graphic. Carefully place the graphic making sure it is centered and straight. Your tape measure and/or ruler will come in handy for this. You should still have the backing on at this time.
Step 3. Tape graphic in place. With the backing still on, tape the graphic in place. It is best to put a piece of tape at the top in the center and at the bottom in the center. Also put tape on the left top corner as well as the left bottom corner. Leave the right half of the graphic loose.
Step 4. Remove the right backing. Lift up the right side of the graphic and carefully peel the backing down, making sure that the graphic is stuck to the application tape. Cut the backing from this side off.
Step 5. Wet the surface. Using the spray bottle or sponge, wet the surface where the graphic will be applied. Just a little soapy water is needed.
Step 6. Apply the right side. Carefully hold up the right side while you press it down using your squeeqee, working from the left sided. Try to do this in a smooth motion, not getting any air bubbles under the vinyl.
Step 7. Squeeqee the graphic down. Using your squeegee or a flat edge, smooth down the vinyl (with the application tape still on it) with medium force.
Step 8. Apply the Left Side. Remove the masking tape and apply the left side following steps 4-7.
Step 9. Remove the application tape. Carefully remove the application tape by pulling it back from a corner. Do this slowly, making sure all the vinyl sticks to the surface you applied it to, not the tape. If it pulls up, put it back down and squeegee again.
Step 10. Final Squeegee. Put the backing you cut off before over the vinyl and squeegee over it. This protects the vinyl from scuff from the squeegee. Be sure to use a some force and to cover the entire graphic. You are squeezing out any water or air that might be under the vinyl and making a strong bond between the vinyl and the surface.
Step 11. Remove any air bubbles. Even experienced vinyl installers some times get air bubbles. If you do, just prick the bubble with a pin or needle and smooth out the air with your squeegee or finger.
